Particles and condensing vapors contribute to the contamination of optical components solar thermochemical reactors including windows secondary concentrators result in severe reactor performance deterioration. We propose an impinging-jet a distinctive topology enhance aerodynamic-aided window protection. The vector fields on two-dimensional inner surfaces four conventional are analyzed for first time using differential topology. topological analysis demonstrates that application impinging jet leads prevention stagnation point vicinity window, which is inevitable any axisymmetric flow field reactors. transient all numerically investigated finite volume method understand effects geometry, aspect ratio, sweep gas mass rate protection characterized by contaminant residence peak volumetric concentration near window. with ratios one two found be most effective designs among configurations.
